Numerical Differential Geometry in Matlab
I will show how to numerically estimate and plot tangent-vector fields, normal
fields, metric coefficients, and scalar curvature for several parameterized
surfaces. Computations are done on a discretely sampled mesh in Matlab. This
talk will serve as a very gentle introduction to numerical differentiation and
plotting in Matlab for a pure-math-grad audience.
